Since 1901 the dedicated members of the community have come together to provide fire and emergency medical services to the people living and visiting the 4 square miles of wonder that make Ogunquit so special.

Ogunquit is situated on Maine’s southwesterly coast of the Atlantic Ocean. From our lively village, our beautiful sandy beach, and an active fishing port, Ogunquit lives up to its name as a beautiful place by the sea. Our community has a year-round population of approximately 1500. The local population can increase by 90% during the summer months and visitors account for a large portion of the population from April to as late as Christmas.  We provide services to the 2452 housing units that range from small 300 square foot cottages to 17,000 square foot homes. Our commercial properties account for an additional 294 units that range from small shops to many multi-level large hotels, inns, and bed and breakfasts that are over 15,000 square feet. The town begins at the Atlantic Ocean with 3.5 miles of the rocky shoreline, and beaches it ends in the forested base of a small coastal mountain.

As a combination department we have operate with 8 career members supplemented by a 17 member on call staff.

The department operates out of one station with two engines, a ladder, brush truck and two rescues. Our staff provides the highest-level services to community.  We respond to nearly 1000 calls for service annually. The Department actively participates in the regional Mutual Aid System involving 6 other communities encompassing over 72,000 winter and 125,000 summer population with a total mutual aid response area of 268 sq. miles.
